A Visit From An Old Friend

An old friend appeared in my store.  I hadn't seen her in over six years and we did not recognize each other at first.  She was looking for some chemicals for her spa, and when I didn't have them I told her I could order them.  She said that was fine and I asked her for her name so I could hold it for her.  She told me her name and she said, "Are you Joey Zabel?"

The past flooded back to me and I saw her for the first time.  She grew her hair out, and it was always short when I knew her before.  My hair was long when I last saw her, so I am sure I looked very different.  It was a great mini reunion.

Our friendship was forged in the common quest for becoming co-workers with God.  She managed to go further than I did, and I always wondered how she was doing.  She is doing very well I am happy to say, and she brought her light into my life two days ago in my little store in Great Falls.  She reminded me of a very special lesson that I needed to hear.

She said, "God's hand can reach into any dark hole to pull you out."  It is accurate to say that I have been in a spiritual dark hole for the past 5 years, and I believe she was being a co-worker as God's hand doing the pulling that day with me.  She was the lesson.  Her presence raised my state of consciousness and opened my heart.

I was having a particularly difficult day with a certain client and I was having some very negative thoughts about him and my business.  Somehow after my short visit with her, the stress lifted.  I didn't care about whatever was bothering me before she came in.

This is the power of God's love.  It can transform us in an instant.  One moment of acceptance can open our hearts and allow us to experience the glory of heaven, even if only for a brief moment.  A brief moment with God, can be a lifetime.

May the Blessings Be
